Glocal Steps is the podcast of the Glocademia Matrix, created to bring the group’s scholarship out of the pages of academic articles and into open, spoken conversation. Our goal is simple: to share the work of Glocademia Matrix members in a way that bridges theory and practice in education, and to build a genuinely glocal community of listeners — one that spans institutions, disciplines, and backgrounds.

Each episode explores the ideas at the heart of Glocademia’s work, organized around our three guiding axes: glocademics, intercultural responsibility, and glocal languages. Through these conversations, we dig into questions of decolonial, critical, and intercultural education — not as abstract theory, but as lived challenges and responsibilities we all navigate as members of an increasingly interconnected, glocal world.

What makes Glocal Steps distinct is its ambition to reach beyond the academy. While written scholarship often stays within specialized circles, oral knowledge travels differently — it reaches faculty, students, and everyday people who may never read a journal article but who live these questions of language, culture, and identity every day. This podcast exists in that gap, translating rigorous research into accessible dialogue.
